A passenger has rights when involved in an automobile or truck accident. You may have a potential claim against the insurance policy of the vehicle you're in, even if the driver is a family member or friend. There is also a potential claim against the driver of the other vehicle’s insurance policy, even if you know them you should still file your claim. After the accident you should always check and make sure everybody is okay, and if somebody needs medical attention you should call 911 and request an ambulance, but the second thing you should do is gather insurance information of each driver so that you may have the necessary information to file a claim to preserve your rights.
