Always make sure that the company has some sort of malfunction policy and takes responsibility for these malfunctions. There, of course, can be instances where the driver is held responsible such as driver negligence. I would always advise to inspect the car prior to leaving the company and report any damages you see. If you do face any malfunctions, document and take pictures of everything.
