Sexual assault from an employer can come in many forms and it is important to be aware of what can be considered sexual assault. Some common forms of workplace sexual assault can be unwanted comments about someones body and appearance, requests for sexual favors, explicit language about sexual acts, conversations about ones sexuality or sex life, and using vulgar language. Some less common, but equally serious, forms of sexual assault can be gender-based and sexual orientation-based slurs, making comments about a certain gender and sexual orientation as a whole (stereotyping), and blocking someones movement from place to place. If you are unsure if an interaction or comment is considered sexual assault, contact your Human Resources department for more guidance. If necessary, contact a trusted lawyer to speak on your behalf. We are always happy to listen to you and hear your case. Give us a call at (817) 335-5100 for a free consultation.
