Yes, since 1888 Texas has been an at-will employment state. This means that your employer can fire you at any time for any reason. This also means that you as an employee can quit for no reason at all. However, an employer cannot fire you based on your sex, age, race, or disability as protected by the Texas Labor Code Chapter 21.
