The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) covers minimum age requirements, equal pay, and child labor laws. In Texas, the federal minimum age requirement is 7.25 an hour and overtime is at time and a half in over a 40 hour work week over a 7 day period. In the Equal Pay Act, men and women are required to be paid the same for individuals who display the same level of skill, experience, qualification, and responsibility. Child labor is also illegal in the State of Texas prohibiting children under the age of 14 from working.
