Full Coverage

I want to talk to you a little bit about the UM claim as it relates to the term full coverage.  We’ve had several clients come in and say, “I have full coverage and therefore everything’s taken care of”, but when we go ahead and look at their insurance policy we see they do not have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.  What that means is that if the other person hits you and they don’t have enough insurance then your insurance kicks in.  For example, if someone has no insurance at all, they run into you and it’s their fault then your insurance will pick up what your medical expenses are, your mental anguish etc.  If you say you have full coverage, you need to check and make sure you have UM coverage.  Go to your insurance agent and ask if you have UM coverage, if you don’t, then you don’t have full coverage.  If you are involved in a motor vehicle accident and you are not sure if you have full coverage, then give us a call and we will help you determine if you do or do not have full coverage.
