Power Plays

Here at the Law Office of Jim Zadeh we have represented victims of sexual harassment for over 15 years, and one of the things that we see is that sexual harassment is often not about sex.  It's really about power; it’s about the individual who is the harasser wanting to control and have power over the person and make them do things that they wouldn't otherwise do.  Sometimes when we are involved in sexual harassment cases, the cases go away from the actual sex itself and go to the power loops that people make.  We had a case in which a president of a company would tell stories about dreams he had of people, and would tell those explicit dreams in front of other employees, then ultimately, he invited the employee he had dreams about to come up to his office, and he was in his boxer shorts.  That was his way of exerting power; that was his way of saying I’m in charge and you are going to do what I want you to do, I’m going to say what I want when you are here.  When you're involved in a situation where you feel like you have been sexually harassed, understand it's about the harasser trying to exert some sort of power.  If you believe you have been sexually harassed at work, then call me today for your free consultation.
