What is Causation?

This series of videos is for personal injury terminology. As you come into our office and we represent you, we’re going to use a lot of terms that you may not be familiar with. The idea of these videos is to help you get familiar with those terms so you can better understand them as we go through the process.  What does the term causation mean in terms of a personal injury case? Causation means, did the negligence of the other party cause your injuries and proximally cause your injuries.  That means, when the person hits you and you have an injury can you relate the injury to the accident or is the injury something that was preexisting or was the injury something that happened afterwards?  Causation is an important part of a personal injury litigation.
