First, make sure your PTO is covered by a company that follows FMLA. Next, contact your employer for an explanation. They should be able to point you in the direction of their reasoning. If the company is covered by FMLA and you have still been denied PTO, contact your human resources department. If you are finding difficulty with getting an explanation from your employer, the HR department should be able to provide you with some clarity.
