Promissory Estoppel

Another cause of action under business litigation or commercial litigation in Texas is Promissory Estoppel.  What promissory estoppel means is if one party in a business transaction or in business makes a promise to another party, that other party relies upon that promise, and the reliance on that promise is foreseeable.  So, its foreseeable that the one party will rely on the other parties promise, and injustice can only be avoided if the promise is enforced.  That is promissory estoppel under Texas.  If you are involved in a business or commercial litigation transaction that involves a promissory estoppel, then call our office so that we can explain your rights.
